Virtual Competitions

The Normal Marching Band is excited to participate in virtual competitions through USBands this fall!  The vUSBands performances will be streamed through a platform called FloMarching.  This service can be accessed at, through your mobile app marketplace, smart TV, or streaming stick.  If your smart TV app store does not have a FloMarching app, search for FloSports.  FloMarching offers a monthly subscription for $29.99 or an annual subscription for $150.  These rates allow FloMarching to secure the proper licensing to stream our performances legally.  During a typical season, admission for live performances is between $8 and $20 dollars per person, so you might consider your FloMarching subscription to be the virtual equivalent of buying a ticket to the show!  We hope you will have the opportunity to see our performances through this platform.

The NMB tentatively plans to participate in:

  • the FloMarching Kickoff, streaming September 26th and 27th

  • the Yamaha Cup, streaming October 3rd and 4th

  • the DeMoulin Invitational, streaming October 10th and 11th

  • the Remo Invitational, streaming October 24th and 25th

  • and possible late-season entries

Streaming begins at 8:00 AM on each Saturday, with an awards presentation being available at 6:00 PM.  Be on the lookout for future information about USBands competition t shirts and other merchandise.

Outside of the virtual USBands programming on FloMarching, we are aware of a handful of other virtual competitions and festivals.  Some of the footage being submitted to USBands will also be submitted to these other events.  These events are generally a one-time submission that will be evaluated by a panel of adjudicators.  Typically, the submissions will not be available for streaming, but results will be announced over the internet or streamed at the conclusion of the festival.  Additional information will be shared when it becomes available.
